Living the Good Life

I will never catch up from when I last posted, but I will try.  Life has been good and we have stayed really busy.  So, just to give you a preview of the last three months...this is what we have been up to:

Eating lots of popsicles

Dressing up like daddy.  This kid loves his dad and runs to him, clinging to his leg when he arrives home.  He also pulls on my hand most of the hour to go up and sit with daddy during our church meeting.

Joshua has discovered the wonderful world of coloring, although the concept of "only on paper" has yet to stick in his little head.

We have been making all sorts of messes.  You can tell not much painting actually went on.

We have been able to play and Papa and Grammy's house.  If only these kids had a backyard, but then it makes going to their house even more exciting!

Aliyah always counts down the days to going to Grammy's house.  Each day she informs me of how many sleeps left and also that she is "so exciged!"

Joshua is obsessed, and I mean really, truly, completely obsessed with basketball.  There were a few days that everyone in our house got sick and he just cried at the door with his basketball because we couldn't take him to the park to bounce it around.  He cried "ball, ball, ball..." for about 10 minutes before I rigged up some hoop for him indoors.  It later was moved so that it didn't take off paint and we even added some net, but he was in heaven.

Easter came around the time we were all sick.  I ended up with it the worst on Easter Day.  Luckily, for the kids we had done coloring eggs and an Easter egg hunt a couple days before.

Joshua was willing to help Aliyah out with her stash.

The kids looked so adorable in their Easter outfits.  It's just too bad I didn't look at the camera setting before snapping lots of pictures.  They were not so great quality, but you still can see their cuteness.

Have I ever mentioned that Joshua is a ham?  He is such a cheesy kid and loves to play it up.

Welcome to our backyard.  A lovely cement sidewalk, but they don't mind it at all.  We have since used the pool for actual swimming.  I can't keep them away from water and luckily each time we use it I also get the car washed with all their splashing.

Mother's Day was a great day.  Aliyah was trying so hard to be helpful and kind.  She even put together an entire strawberry pie for me.  She is such a big helper in the kitchen.  I always have one of the kids on the counter next to me while cooking and they want to be involved in every way.

Some days it is just fun to play dress-up.  Especially when their is a willing guy to be the prince.  Joshua will give into anything if he can wear a crown or even a tiara.  He even is a great dance partner for his princess.

Both kids love the idea of being all grown-up.  They are constantly playing mom and dad while wearing our shoes to prove their adulthood.

This little guy is so sweet...most of the time.  He loves to have cuddly things and once in a while actually cuddle on your lap.  He found Grammy's dog and found a great place to hid away with mommy's phone.

And every once in awhile these kids actually stop and rest.  Mostly they wanted to play camping while testing out our sleeping bag for a Young Women who needed a sleeping bag.  We still have yet to attempt camping with the two of them, but if this is a sign of what they will do...maybe, we should risk it.

Now, since you made it this far you lucky few get to find out what we have mostly been up to.  We have been looking forward to bringing a BABY SISTER into this family.  Aliyah is so excited and even said she is willing to share her princess dresses and shoes with her sister.  Joshua has no idea what is about to hit him the beginning of October.  We couldn't be happier and are so grateful to be blessed with such wonderful kids.  Our lives are full because of them.
